This state-of-the-art building, located in the Leiden Bio Science Park, will be the central research facility for enzyme technology at IFF. This facility supports industrial applications such as home and personal care and the grain processing industry. The project, carried out by Dura Vermeer with Ector Hoogstad as architect, covers an area of approximately 8,700 m².
L3Q has focused on the design and permanent establishment of various laboratories, including ML-II, biochemistry, analysis, application, pilot plant, sensory, high throughput, wet labs and autoclave facilities. A special aspect of this project is the integration of water treatment systems for the Home & Personal Care Applications Lab.
The utilities within this facility include both centralized and decentralized vacuum facilities, as well as various gases. In addition, the building is certified with a BREEAM Excellent certificate, which underlines the sustainability and efficiency of the design. The project was completed in March 2020, with Wesemann Benelux as VLI supplier.
With these state-of-the-art laboratories, IFF will be able to take its research into enzyme technology to the next level, contributing to innovative solutions in various industries.
